King Rice Oil Group

 

With realization of the exceptional nutritional value of Thai rice, especially the rice bran, Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. was established in 1977 to transform high quality rice bran into premium quality rice bran oil, defatted rice bran, and other rice bran related products. Rice bran oil is commonly know as rice oil, or brown rice oil.

In 1988, Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. was established in order to extend the production capacity to support the increasing demand in both domestic and international markets. The plant is located in Ayuthaya.

Thai Edible Oil pledges to set up and develop a strong research and development team and invested heavily in R&D facilities and cutting-edge machinery. Today, the Thai Edible Oil Group is the one of the world’s largest rice bran oil and defatted rice bran manufacturers.

1977

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. was established.

1988

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. was founded to expand production capacity for rice bran oil.

1991

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. first exported its rice bran oil products to Korea.

1995

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. developed advanced extraction technology with technical assistance from German and Belgian engineers.

1997

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. incorporated the Electro Mechanical Sample Taker and NIRS (Near-infrared System) into its raw material sampling and quality analyzing system.

1999

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. advanced into Singapore and the European Union markets.

2000

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. exported crude rice bran oil to Japan.

2001

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. entered into the U.S. market.

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. expanded its annual extraction capacity to 200,000 metric tons of rice bran, making it one of the largest rice bran oil extraction plants in the world.

2002

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. exported to Japan and Australia.

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. is the first vegetable oil company in Thailand to achieve the GMP and HACCP certification.

2004

Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. is the first vegetable oil manufacturer to have been awarded as one of the heart-friendly products from the "Thai Food Good Heart" Project organized by The Heart Foundation of Thailand under the Royal Patronage and Faculty of Public Health, Mahidal University.

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. attained the GMP and HACCP from the Department of Livestock Development, Thailand. It also achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification from SGS (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

2006 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. was the winner of the National Innovation Awards in Economic Category for King Rice Bran Oil – High Oryzanol (4,000 ppm.).

2008 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. advanced its quality management system and attained ISO 9001:2000 certification.

2009 - Thai Ruam Jai Korat Co., Ltd. was established to expand total annual production capacity of King Rice Oil Group, making it one of the largest rice bran oil producers in the world.

2010 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. was the winner of Rice Innovation Award for King Rice Bran Oil Shortening.

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd. obtained NES Award for Excellency of Engineer Management, Energy Conservation, and Efficiency Maintenance. In the same year this facility also awarded for Development of Efficiency Water Usage. 

2011 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd.
expertise its Laboratory Analyses and attained ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certification within the field of Food Testing.

received the second place for Rice Innovation Award for King Rice Bran Oil Non-Dairy Creamer (there was no winner in this year).

2012 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd. was the first cooking oil producer in Thailand to implement Solar Energy Heating System. 

2013 - Thai Edible Oil Co., Ltd.
set up a new refinery facility at Nakhonratchasima province to expand refined rice bran oil capacity

improves its environmental performance and attained ISO 14001:2004 certification.

received the second place for Rice Innovation Award for King Rice Bran Flour.   

Thai Ruam Jai Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd.
expanded its quality management system to cover food safety management system and attained ISO 22000:2005 certification.

2014 - Thai Ruam Jai Korat Co., Ltd. attained the GMP, HACCP, and ISO 9001:2008 certification.
